Have you heard? Accountants are only for businesses or rich folks, right?

Nope! If you think about it, most people hire specialized professionals all the time. People hire mechanics, barbers, nail techs, cleaning services, or call the Geek Squad when the computer is on the fritz. I’m sure you have a favorite mechanic for your vehicle or the person you always go to for your hair. You wouldn’t want to go to a different hairdresser every time you need a cut or color, right? Most people want to go where they are comfortable with the service; whatever that is.

Calling your accountant shouldn’t be any different. We speak with our business owner clients several times a month, but did you know that most non-business owner clients call their accountants six to eight times a year? 

Here are some reasons we get to stay in touch with our clients:

• They landed a new job and want to discuss the tax implications of a higher or lower salary.
• They had a life change (marriage, divorce, birth of a child, or a death of a spouse)
• They are thinking about retirement or a child just graduated high school and they need help with the overwhelming college experience.
• They are thinking about a large purchase or starting a side business.
• They need to put a parent in a nursing home, assisted living or they are moving in with them.
• They hear about tax changes and call for a clearer explanation.
• They call to let us know that something unique is happening (someone is in the hospital, etc.)
• They call or stop by just to say “Hi”.

Here is the awesome part: calls and conversations are always free for our clients. If you are a tax client or we are helping you with some other service, you never have to worry about being charged extra for advice. We love getting to know our clients and plan on a great long-term relationship!
